3.2 Nature Protection

The main objective of the project is to promote and increase the use of common natural resources in the CB region through restoration and conservation of ecosystems in protected natural areas.

Project activities:

1. Organization of a seminar and exchange of experience aimed at the effective management of protected areas;
2. Development of a Management Plan for the Protected Area "Dreneto";
3. Supply of technical equipment for preservation and restoration of ecosystems in a protected area "Vlasina";
4. Delivery of technical equipment for preservation and restoration of ecosystems in the protected natural zones of Municipality of Botevgrad;
5. Development of a promotional brochure "Protected areas in the Botevgrad - Surdulitsa cross-border region";
6. Organization of youth tourist march;
7. Event organization under the motto "Environment - Future and Responsibility of All".

As a result of the project implementation will be developed a plan for management of a protected nature zone in the Municipality of Botevgrad; will be purchased technical equipment for the partners, necessary for maintaining and preservation of the natural ecosystems; will be organized educational campaigns and increased awareness of the local communities for the preservation of the natural resources; will be disseminated information brochure "Protected Natural Areas of Botevgrad and Surdulitsa".

Target groups of the project are: Local public authorities, regional public authorities, stakeholder groups, including environmental NGOs, pupils, local communities, residents of Botevgrad and Surdulitsa.
