3.2 Nature Protection

The overall objective of the project is to promote the sustainable cross-border cooperation between the Municipality of Kyustendil and Lebane in conservation and management of the environment by building awareness among the population and establishing sustainable practices related to raising public awareness for more effective management and conservation of environment. The specific objectives of the project are: creation of optimal conditions for education of children and young people from the two partner municipalities by transforming an appropriate infrastructure into environmental education center and kindergarten; formation of environmental thinking and behavior in young people by organizing and conducting special events focused on environment protection; raising public and stakeholders awareness for more effective management and protection of environment in the border region.

Activities: 1) Project management; 2) Rehabilitation of Environmental education center in Kyustendil Municipality and delivery of suppy; 3) Rehabilitation of kindergarten in Lebane P + 0 with energy rehabilitation; 4) Elaboration of joint ecological programme Be equal with the nature for children in preschool age; 5) Organization and conduction of eco-training in Kyustendil and 3-day children exhibition My green city; 6) Organization and conduction of eco-training in Lebane and children exhibition My green city; 7) Elaboration of information and educational leaflets about the flora and fauna of the border region; 8) Elaboration of joint ecological plan Environment in cross-border region and organization of two-day discussion forum Cross - border environment - state and trends; 9) Information and publicity.

Expected results of the project are: 1) A project management team formed; 2) Renovated and equipped eco-educational center in Kyustendil Municipality - 1 piece; 3) Renovated kindergarten with increased energy efficiency in the municipality of Lebane - 1 pc; 4) Prepared joint environmental program Be Equal with Nature for pre-school children - 100 pcs 5) Organized and conducted eco-training in Kyustendil and three day children's exhibition My green city - 1 pc; 6) Organized and conducted eco-training in Lebane and three day children's exhibition My green city - 1 pc; 7) Informational educational leaflets for the flora and fauna characteristic of the cross-border region - 600 pcs; 8) Elaborated joint environmental plan Environment in the cross-border region - 600 pcs. and organized two-day discussion forum Cross-border environment - state and trends - 1; 9) Promoted project.
