Project summary:

The project general objective is to diversify the tourist products in the cross-border area of Oryahovo, Bulgaria and Surdulica, Serbia. The project specific objectives are: 1) Raising tourist attractiveness and competitiveness of the area through development of new sites and reconstruction of existing; 2) Raising awareness for development of musical tourism; 3) Preservation of cultural heritage and its wide promotion.

Project activities include: Elaboration of Common strategy for the protection, promotion and development of cross-border musical culture and musical tourism; Reconstruction of museum-house and its turning into museum-house of Diko Iliev and brass musicians; Site supervision for Reconstruction of museum-house and its turning into museum-house of Diko Iliev and brass musicians; Reconstruction works of the building of Surdulica Cultural Center; Organizing of Diko Iliev Days in Oryahovo Municipality; Organizing of Joint music event in Surdulica Municipality; Supply of innovative equipment for museum-house of Diko Iliev and brass musicians; and supply of equipment for Surdulica Cultural Centre.

Project activities will result in reconstruction of 2 cultural and historical sites in the cross border area and development of a common strategy for the protection, promotion and development of cross-border musical culture and musical tourism, which will improve the tourist attractiveness of the region and stimulate musical tourism.

Project summary:

The general objective of the project is development of competitive tourist attractions through the exposure of ancient fortress Borovets (near the town of Pravets) and realization of new exhibition in Surdulica.

Project activities:

  1. Conservation and exposure measures of Ancient Fortress Borovets – ensuring better status and accessibility;
  2. Supply of equipment – for the new exhibition in Surdulica;
  3. Research of the monuments on the territory of Municipality of Surdulica;
  4. Exchange of experience and best practices;
  5. Preparation and realization of new exposition in Surdulica;
  6. Promoting video clip, film and lectures for tourists;
  7. Joint seminar and exhibition in Pravets;
  8. Joint conference and exhibition in Surdulica.

Expected results:

Through the activities in this project will be increased the tourist attractiveness of the cross-border region of Pravets and Surdulica through the conservated cultural historical site fortress Borovets, new exhibition in Surdulica, and the development of small scale infrastructure encouraging tourists' visits - relax zones with benches, litter bins, wooden platforms in Borovets area. Significant project results are also:

  1. Conducted research of the monuments on the territory of Municipality of Surdulica;
  2. Conducted exchange of experience and best practices;
  3. Promoted video clip, film and lectures for tourists;
  4. Conducted joint seminar and exhibition in Pravets;
  5. Conducted joint conference and exhibition in Surdulica.

Target groups pf the project are local citizens of Municipality of Pravets (7430) and Surdulica (20319); Tourists visiting Pravets (30000) and Surdulica (20000) yearly; Experts from Historical Museum - Pravets (6) and Association of soldiers - Surdulica (5); Мunicipal administration of Pravets (56) and Surdulica (68); Representatives of media (20) and NGOs, SMEs, tourism agencies (10).

Project summary:

Project objective is the improvement of cross-border region Bulgaria - Serbia tourism attractiveness through activities supporting the development of competitive touristic destinations through cooperation, as well as contribution to the diversification of tourist products in the region.

Planned activities: Development of common strategy for tourism promotion and cultural exchange and online culture calendar; Organization of 4 cultural events for tourist attraction; Conducting an internet campaign for tourism attraction; Supply of equipment for improvement of tourism attractiveness in Mediana and Montana - outdoor stage with event equipment will be delivered in Montana, while in Mediana will be delivered equipment for conducting of culture events.

Expected results: Supplied stage and stage equipment required for encouraging and supporting enrichment and diversification of the culture calendar of Montana and Mediana. Conducted online tourist attraction campaign; Organized 2 entertainment tourist attracting events in Mediana and 2 entertainment touris attracting events in Montana. Developed common strategy for tourism promotion and cultural exchange. Online culture calendar with information on upcomming events and tourism promotion.
