Project summary:

The project aims to create sustainable networks and partnerships and to improve the visibility and public awareness on the touristic potential of the cross-border region.

Planned activities:

  1. Research on the CB location here;
  2. Round table and multimedia application;
  3. Training in tourism promotion;
  4. Training for the selected partnerships;
  5. Participation in International Tourism Fairs and presentation of movie.

Project results:

  1. Developed sustainable networks and partnerships in cross-border region;
  2. One roundtable held and one multimedia application developed;
  3. 16 tourism workers trained for integrated tourism offer (more information here);
  4. 8 tourism workers trained for managing web portals (more information here) and 4 web portals for integrated tourism offers;
  5. One professional documentary movie on Bulgarian, Serbian and English language for promotion of CB region and integrated tourism offers elaborated;
  6. Two press conferences and two participations on International Tourism Fairs;
  7. Networks within minimum 32 tourism subjects in the CB region established.

The main target group of the project are the tourism workers, local governments and population in the cross – border area of Nisava, Pcinja, Kyustendil and Pernik districts as well as the organizations related to the tourism sector.

Project summary:

Overall project objective is enhanced capacity of the members of cross-border Association “Soul of the Balkans“ and organization of joint events for better promotion and attracting of new tourists.

Planned project activities are: 1.Study on wine tourists needs and expectations in cross-border region; 2.Capacity building of tour operators and winemakers to better meet market requirements; 3.Wine route Management Workshops; 4.Organization of Cross Border Wine competition „Soul of the Balkans“; 5.Organization of Cross Border Wine Fair in Vidin; 6.Improving wine testing knowledge through exchange of best practices; 7.Elaboration of Manual for introducing internet marketing in wine tourism; 8.Trainings for introducing social media in a wine tourism.

Expected results: R1: Enhanced capacity of the members of cross-border Association “Soul of the Balkans“ R2: Strengthen joint cross border brand “The Soul of the Balkans”, by introducing annual awards “Soul of the Balkan R3. “Soul of the Balkans ” wine route better promoted through offering of improved services and using new informational technologies R4. Organization of joint events for better promotion and attracting of new tourists.

Project summary:

Overall objective of the project is stimulating the balanced and sustainable development and promotion of festival tourism achieved through capitalization and presentation of intangible cultural heritage in Pravets and Vranje. Specific objectives are:

  1. Capitalization the effect of cultural heritage tourism on border communities through the common actions in Vranje and Pravets;
  2. Capacity building of stakeholders in the field of sustainable festival tourism management in Vranje and Pravets;
  3. Raising the public awareness in Vranje and Pravets on the opportunities for sustainable use of the intangible cultural heritage and its sustainable use for tourism.

Planned activities:

  1. Elaboration of a the Joint spectacle “Fairy tale of our common traditions –theatre and music”;
  2. Supply of equipment and costumes;
  3. Promotion and presentation of the Joint spectacle;
  4. Traditional festivities at the neighbor;
  5. Capacity building forum on capitalization of the intangible cultural heritage effect in CB region;
  6. Culture and art camp in Vranje.

Project results and outputs:

  1. Public awareness initiatives for sustainable use of intangible cultural heritage and resources;
  2.  1 joint spectacle aimed at promotion and cultivation of the common traditions of the CBRs;
  3. Raised awareness and build capacity of the target groups, beneficiaries and stakeholders through direct actions for preservation, promotion and preservation of the intangible cultural heritage in a people to people way.

Target Groups: Citizens of Municipality of Vranje (85802); Citizens of Municipality of Pravets (7569); Ensembles and groups of CC "Zarya 1895" (76); Visitors and tourists of Vranje and Surdulica (20000 yearly); Visitors and tourists of Pravets (10000 yearly); Local authorities of Vranje and Pravets (10); Cultural and art experts from Bulgaria and Serbia (10).
