Interpreting Balkan Folklore Heritage

The project objectives are:
- To ensure preservation and promotion of common cultural folklore heritage of the CB area of Nišava, Pernik and Kyustendil;
- To stimulate sustainable development of local tourist sector;
- To establish CB networks in the area of folklore.

The activities are:
1. Research on folklore dances and costumes in the CB region Pernik / Niš and creating a web catalog of Folklore Ensembles and events;
2. Learning of Bulgarian and Serbian choreography in Niš and Pernik;
3. Folklore costumes exhibition in Pernik;
4. Forum "Common folklore heritage of the CB area" in Niš;
5. Creating Web Catalog of Folklore Ensembles and events in the Cross-Border Region;
6. Workshops on folklore dances in Pernik and Niš and two joint concerts;
7. Balkan legends – a modern folklore spectacle in Pernik;
8. Round table in Pernik.

The expected results are:
1. Conducted research on CB dancing folklore and an elaborated on-line catalogue of Folklore Ensembles and events here;
2. Conducted 2 learning choreography exchanges with the participation of 60 folklore dancers and 4 choreographers from both countries here;
3. Organized 1 folklore costumes exhibition in Pernik with 100 visitors;
4. Organized 1 forum "Common folklore heritage of the CB area" in Niš with 40 participants;
5. Elaborated 3-lingual Web Catalog of Folklore Ensembles and events;
6. Conducted 2 joint folklore workshops with 56 participants, and 2 joint concerts (videos here and here);
7. Produced 1 modern and innovative folklore spectacle Balkan legends in Pernik;
8. Conducted Round table in Pernik, as a final event with 40 participants.

The target groups are:
- Folklore and culture organizations in the CB area Pernik / Niš;
- Experts, specialists in the field of folklore and culture;
- General public - Interested population.
