Project summary:

Project aims: 1. Enhancing the capacity for response of fire and safety services in cases of forest and field fires in the cross-border region; 2. Improving joint risk management during forest fires extinguishing in the cross-border region; 3. Improving public awareness about the reasons for forest fires ignition and measures needed to be taken to reduce the number of man-made disasters and to mitigate the consequences from them.

The project envisages: Organizing a training centre for wildfires extinguishing - a training centre for staff training will be organized including 8 different sites; Elaboration of Training Programme for forest fires extinguishing; 4. Equipment delivery - the following equipment will be delivered: 2 specialized vehicles for forest fires extinguishing, 1 Specialized system for aerial reconnaissance: microbus; 2 multicopters; 1 aicraft system; 4 Laptops; 1 Multifunctional device and 4 mobile phones for Regional Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection - Montana; 1 fire vehicle for all-terrain with suppoting equipment; 5 Desktop computers; 3 Laser printers; 1 tablet; 2 external hard discs; 50 Collapsible fire pump, 3 laptops for Sector for Emergency Situations, Serbia; 5. Common Operational Procedure elaboration; 6. Elaboration of Plan for joint actions; 7. Trainings of the management and operational staff and Field exercise; 8. Awareness campaign will be conducted to give information to the public of the basics of how wildfires ignite structures combined with scientifically proven mitigation actions.
