European Cooperation Day 2018
The Programme will celebrate the European cooperation day 2018 with an Arts Festival “Painting our future together” on 21 September 2018, 16:00 – 20:00h, Branka Radicevica Street 1, Knjazevac, Republic of Serbia
Continuing the tradition whole Europe is going to celebrate the European Cooperation Day. The initiative is coordinated by the European Commission, in cooperation with the Committee of the Regions and the European Parliament and aims to present to the public the achievements of the cooperation between the European countries and regions.
Interreg-IPA CBC Bulgaria – Serbia Programme invites you to the Arts Festival “Painting our future together”.
The main idea of the festival is to promote the culture, arts and music traditions of the two countries, as potential for attracting more tourists to the cross-border region.
After the official opening, the welcome message and short introductory words, all participants will be invited to start with the artistic activities. Talented pupils from the schools in Knjazevac are to paint 8 paintings, under the theme of the history and the values of the EU. The topics of the paintings could be the process of creation of the EU, including green and healthy environment, innovations, etc.
The first part of the celebration will also cover the facial painting of around 50 children, by artists. The paintings on the face will be colorful, some may represent EU. The grown-ups and participants can also be included.
The second part will include presentation of best practices of projects from Knjazevac and the region. The moderator will invite people to hear about 10 successful projects from the previous programming period. Stands with project information will be placed outdoors, on the plateau, in front of the House of Culture in Knjazevac.
This will be followed by a joint concert of the Academic mixed choir “Folk-jazz formation” of the New Bulgarian University – Sofia, and the Academic Choir of Students’ Cultural Centre of the University of Niš – project partners under the previous project “Youth Music Master Workshop”.
After the concert, official greeting of the representatives of the hosts the Ministry of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia, the Municipality of Knjazevac, and the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works of the Republic of Bulgaria will take place.
Then, the host will thank everyone and invite the honorable guests and public to take a look at all the paintings. The host will then invite all in front of the main stage for reward announcement and for joint photograph.
All 16 painters will receive a small reward by the honorable guests.
All the children with paints on the faces will be invited to step up to the podium, for a joint photo.
Finale of the EC Day 2018 celebration will be a concert of a prominent performer – Biljana Krstić & Bistrik Orchestra, whose opus covers rich musical heritage of the region. The music performed by Bilja Krstic & Bistrik Orchestra is a fusion, blend of traditional ethno music, a Capella songs and ethno grooves with elements of improvisation and modern music approach.
